Rulings on the six fasts of Shawwal

Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (rta) reported Allah's Messenger (saw) as saying: "He who observed the fast of Ramadan and then followed it with six (fasts) of Shawwal, it would be as if he fasted perpetually."
